There are so many museums in Amsterdam. The biggest ones are at the museum district which is near the “Leidseplein” the entertainment area.

Stedelijk museum

Situated on Museum Square, where it first opened in 1895, Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum is the largest Dutch museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art and design. The collection contains extraordinary pieces of art by world-renowned artists, including a great number of works by major twentieth-century Dutch artists.

Van Gogh museum

Is an art museum dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries in Amsterdam. The museum was first opened 02 June 1973 and is located at the Museum Square in the borough Amsterdam South, close to the Stedelijk Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Concertgebouw.

9 am to 6 pm, Fridays until 10 pm

15 July – 4 September 2016

9 am to 7 pm, Fridays until 10 pm, Saturdays until 9 pm

5 September – 6 November 2016

9 am to 6 pm, Fridays until 10 pm

All other days:

9 am to 5 pm and Fridays until 10 pm
